WIHSE Short Course (formerly known as the SEIPS Short Course)
WIHSE Short Course: The mission of WIHSE is to transform health care through engineering, positioning us to achieve the Quadruple Aim of revolutionizing the patient experience, improving population health, controlling healthcare costs, and enhancing clinician satisfaction. The WIHSE Human Factors and Patient Safety short course is designed to provide an understanding of human factors and systems engineering and how this approach to patient safety can improve system performance and safety, prevent harm when error does occur, help systems recover from error and mitigate further harm. In addition to didactic lectures, the course is organized with active participation, allowing for participants to apply HFE concepts and techniques. This course is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, information technologists, research scientists, quality improvement specialists, pharmacists, CEOs, middle and upper managers, engineers, risk management professionals, infection control professionals, patient safety officers, and other professionals interested in human factors engineering and/or patient safety.
